Howard announced at the recent club meeting held at Lightstreet that 2024 is the club's 30th anniversary. To celebrate this the Pyrotechnic Artists will be presenting the opening display at the 2024 NFA Convention Demo Weds. 9/11. This display will run during the National Anthem and a short tribute to 9/11 and 1st Responders. Last year the the Anthem/Tribute was 6 minutes long. I will post a link to a video of it at the end of this message. With all the talent our club has, we can probably "jazz it up a bit". Howard has formed an "NFA Display Committee" (I made that title up - heh) and Howard, Christine, and myself are looking for people interested in helping the club pull this off. Here are ways to help the club: 1. Submit ideas that we can implement into the displays. (You don't have to be at the display). 2. Submit product suggestions that you've seen or used in the past. (You don't have to be at the display). 3. Help set up and clean up the display (you'll be required to be at NFA 2024 at your own expense). Howard has some perks he's working on for members who get involved with this. We have some "rough" display ideas already and plan on testing a few things at the upcoming open shoot in May. This will be an opportunity to get more active with the club and help us make a mark at NFA 2024. If you are interested in contributing in any way (no matter how small) or want more info please contact me via email at: mrolef@embarqmail.com and put "nfa display" as the subject. Thank you NFA Convention opening night 2023 (youtube.com)

Last Tuesday I had the privilege of working with Dave Bier and Pyro Joe on Camelback Mountain. Dave was putting on a show for the Chinese Luna New Year and it was totally scripted to traditional Chinese music. On top of that, he had to have all his product and equipment at the discharge location up on the mountain by 6:00AM! There were many other "curveballs" thrown at Dave that he shrugged off as he got the job done. It was a long, cold, demanding task but it was also rewarding to be a part of it. Here's a video of the show below:
